Guys,

Is it acceptable if multiple sewage sumps are connected to a single large sump pit from where it will then be disposed off to the site sewage network?

All 3 sump pits are at the same level, below grade.

It is common to put multiple pumps in a single pit.

It allows operating pump to not short cycle. If a single pump cannot keep up, then another pump, and possibly another.

All the pumps should be sized, at a minimum, to handle the expected peak flow into the sump pit. I prefer to the last pump as a back up in case one of the others is not operational.

I mean to ask if one sump pit can collect sewage from multiple sump pits and then dispose of to the network.

Are you wanting to pump from multiple smaller pits to a larger pit which is then pumped to the network?

I do not know why you would do this inside a building. Typically the only reason sewage is pumped is that it cannot flow by gravity. In fact most codes require it to go by gravity if it can.

I do not know I would want to depend on two pumped systems in series inside the building. It increases the likelihood one of the pumps will fail and there will be sewage back up inside the building.
 
Mirza: I'm doing a project now that has this arrangement (not my design). It's OK by code (IPC), but if it's sanitary or storm water, each discharge would have to tie into a gravity drain through a wye fitting with the branch in the upper quadrant of the pipe prior to dumping into the secondary sump. I'd probably tie all the pumped discharges into the gravity drain at least 20 pipe diameters from the sump so that the velocity slows to 3 or 4 fps.
