I have a model that disappears when shaded. It shows up in wireframe and is still there when shaded. I can select it when shaded even though I can't see it. I've changed colors, changed back ground colors, fit to screen, regenerated work, etc. I've opened other models and had no problems. I've tried to compare settings and can't find any differences.

I'm using NX 7.5

Does anyone have any ideas?

What graphics card does the computer use?

Is it on the Siemens' certified list?

Like I said this is the only model out of hundreds that has this problem. I've been using this computer and UG version for about 6 months with no problems.

Have you looked at the 'lights' to see that they have not been dimmed or deleted? Try View -> Visualization -> Basic lights and hit the reset to default lights button.

No, didn't work. I have also tried using true shading with no luck. I also exported another solid model that does show up while shaded into this one and it works fine. It appears to be the solid itself and not the entire file but can't find out why.

Are you sure it is a solid body? Perhaps it is a sheet body that has its normal reversed and a visualization preference is rendering it invisible (backface culling, or 2 sided light).

Also, try running geometry check to make sure the model is valid.

It is a solid body. Backface culling, changing lighting, etc. nothing works. Geometry check shows no problem.

I ran extract body using single face option and then shaded with no problem except losing parameters that is.

Running extract body using body option does no good. Still invisible.
