We should start a forum wherein we can share spreadsheet programmes or codes in other programming languages in our fields. This will result in good communication betn engineers all over the world, and also share there ideas with each other.

I agree, mathcad already has one for those who prefer it.

There are good reasons why eng-tips should NOT host a repository for members spreadsheets.

Just consider the potential legal liability that could flow from a shared spreadsheet or other type of program with either a virus or even a simple technical error.

Tecumseh already provide a very valuable service to the engineering profession around the world by hosting eng-tips. We should not put that service at risk of an early death at the hands of the legal vultures.

haynewp,

That is how I read the intent of Pravi's original "We should start a forum..."

austim,
There's a zero liability in the shared spreadsheets, even well respected commercial programs don't provide it. For a couple years I was displaying my spreadsheets on and attracted a lot of traffic to this site. I will be happy to place other engineering spreadsheets on it.
