Sharepoint Replacement

We're a small company searching for a real document management system to replace our Sharepoint.
I looked at some known solutions.

Has anyone ever used:

- Alfresco [URL unfurl="true"]http://www.alfresco.com[/url]
- KnowledgeTree [URL unfurl="true"]http://www.knowledgetree.com[/url]

You need to consider how OCR fits into the software. Adobe Acrobat OCRs directly onto the document.
