Shear transfer at ridge vent

This thread is closed, but I wanted to know if you ever came up with a good solution to this?: The shear transfer across a ridge vent.

I plan to use full depth blocking under each edge of sheathing, w/ BN. And to connect the two blocks together at the bottom, maybe with an A35.

To maintain venting, I figure (3)- 3in DIA. vent holes in each block (six total), to provide the equivalent of a 2" x 22.5" vent.

Looks like it should provide enough shear to develop the capacity of the sheathing, if I were to use 2x6 blkg.

I have always assumed weak axis bending of the truss top chords is adequate to transfer shear across a ridge vent opening. Isn't the shear nearly zero at the ridge of a gable roof?

We have always provided blocking between trusses with a nailing pattern to transfer the shear. With the assumption that the diaphragm will have maximum bending at center, the shear will be minimum in one direction but in other directions, it will be the same except at edges. at the edges, the shear will be high so we kept the same nailing pattern on either side. ( of course with the assumption of the short portion of truss being stiff)
