Hi,
I am using ACI to design a building.
According to ACI, shear wall is designed as an ordinary reinforced shear wall or special reinforced shear wall (for high seismic level).
1-What about Wind loads,if I want to design the structure to resist wind loads not seismic load, how do I know if I will use ordinary reinforced shear wall or special reinforced shear wall?
2-If I want to design the structure to resist combined wind and seismic loads, how do I know which type of shear walls to use?
I have searched ACI 318-08 but it seems that there is no mention to wind resisting systems.
Thank you
