Hi,
I am using ACI to design a building.
According to ACI, shear wall is designed as an ordinary reinforced shear wall or special reinforced shear wall (for high seismic level).
1-What about Wind loads,if I want to design the structure to resist wind loads not seismic load, how do I know if I will use ordinary reinforced shear wall or special reinforced shear wall?
2-If I want to design the structure to resist combined wind and seismic loads, how do I know which type of shear walls to use?
I have searched ACI 318-08 but it seems that there is no mention to wind resisting systems.
Thank you

The terms Ordinary and Special only apply to seismic design.

You design your structure for the required load combinations found in your applicable building code. These never combine wind and seismic in the same combination.

Thank you JAE.
ACI 318-08 have 11.9,and chapter 21 for shear wall design.
chapter 21 is for earthquack-resistant structure(special reinforcement method)
While in 11.9 it is "provision for walls" So I think that includes wind resisting systems.so I could use them for my design, as there is no other place in the code to use it.Am I right?

Yes sounds correct

For wind loads structures must behave elastically, for seismic loads, it is allowed to enter the inelastic behavior.
