Hi I'm trying to make a half cylinder in sheet metal. I revolved the retangular section to create the shape. After this I used the "convert to sheet metal" command to change the part to sheet metal. The problem is when I create a blank the blank is smaller than the part and also any circular cutouts in the blank can not be dimensioned. Any idea What I'm doing wrong? Sample part is included.

Try using the Sheet Metal Command "Contour Flange" only drawing the out side or inside profile of the 180deg part. Then use the "normal cutout" command for your hole. Then make sure that "maintain circular shape for holes in Flat Patterns" is checked under Preferences-NX Sheet Metal-Flat Pattern Treatments. If that does not work, you will need to project a point onto the surface where your hole center needs to be, then use the unbend command, including "additional curves or points", then add your hole in the flattened state with the hole command, then rebend.

Ryan

Thank you for the help I had to unbend the blank to get the holes proper. This worked great.
