Sheet Pile Depth between Soldier Piles

I'm designing a soldier pile wall retaining earth adjacent to water. The H-piles are 50-feet long. There is 20-feet of exposed H-pile above low water. The mudline is just below low water. The H-pile is driven through the mud and into overburden below. I'm confident of the H-pile design, depth of fixity, and placement. I'm wondering how low the Sheet Piles, between the H-Piles, should be embedded. I'm proposing 10-feet below mudline. Is there any guidance on how deep to drive the sheets?

Check for storm/scour effects. Check for heaving failure. Take a few feet below the critical level from the results, unless you need more fixity for the intermediate sheeting.

I assume that the soldier piles have interlocks.

If the dam is going to be dewatered, you need to look at the piping effects and the critcal gradient. See either the pile buck design manual or the US Steel Sheet Piling Design Manual. The later is available on Sliderulera's web site. This is important, for if the embedment is not deepenough to control the seepage, the bottom will blow.
