Hello, I would like to know how to make a container with angled walls in sheetmetal design, so that i can unfold it later. I tried everything, but I can't trim or connect angled walls from each other. Thanks

Hi Drnulouc,

When creating the wall on edge, you have an option to change the angle of the wall.Did you try it?

Hello, yes i did. But I can't trim or extend the walls to each other. The container stays opened or walls are intersecting.
See pictures below.

Hi,

Yes.You are right. You cannot fill it in CATIA SMD.Practically if everything is closed, how do u unfold it again? If you need to close it,you have to create a solid in that area.

I don't mean to close it, just bend it so that two walls come together in a straight edge(like the picture on first thread). So that I can unfold it and laser cut the sheet.

Yes thanks, that worked. But I still think it could all be done in sheetmetal.

You could try using the Sketch-based Wall On Edge functionality to Achieve that design specification. I don't have access to the SMD workbench at the moment but off the top of my head in might require something like:

Build a Plane (Angle Normal to Plane) on each edge. interior side of the bend
Sketch the Wall contour on the Planes, maybe using wireframe Intersection of two adjacent planes as a reference in the sketches.
Rinse and Repeat for the remaining edges
