Shell section replacement.

I am replacing a shell section in a ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 vessel. The section to replace will tie into the lower existing head to shell weld. For an already in services vessel following API 510 8.1.6.2.2. C (All insert plate corners that do not extend in an existing longitudinal or horizontal weld shall be rounded having 1" minimum radius). Seeing how the bottom of my new shell section Will land in the lower head to shell weld seam am I incorrect to state that the lower corners at the intersection should be square not round? I posted this in an additional location. I fell this might be a better forum. If the double entry goes against the sight rules please remove.
