Are there any good texts for design and modification to shipping containers? and bringing them up to ISO 1496?

Are you repurposing it as a building or similar structure? There are provisions for how to calculate resistances and deal with modifications of shipping containers in the proposed 2021 IBC. I also think the ICC had advisory guidelines published prior to that.

TLHS: I've done a few mods for structures and also for an outdoor movie stand... The current project mods would have to allow the containers to be brought up to and bringing them up to ISO 1496... including the dozen or so tests... answer is moot... I passed on the project.

My take is the message is communicating dik’s fear of the Religious Right’s disdain for science.

No bad him.

It bothers me as well for the following reasons:
1) It does not seem appropriate for this forum
2) It is a passive statement that lacks vulnerability.

I am not a religious person practicing science, but often find things can't be explained by today's science, so I resort to the god's work, but who is my god - the unknow nature is my answer to myself.

This is a engineering forum. If making a statement about respect for science over non-science is controversial then god help us. (excuse the expression)

Any good engineer should be concerned about the growing push back against logical analysis of our physical world. (And this push back comes from many ideologies, not necessarily religion.)
