I am looking for the appropriate text to put on a rubber stamp for approval/not approved, etc... plus standard disclaimers for shop drawings submitted by contractors. Anyone out there have a good approval disclaimer?

Note: Review and approval is for the design intent, general dimensions and external clearances and for compliance with the information given in the contract documents, as well as (COMPANY NAME) design interface requirements and does not relieve the contractor from his obligation as to details, workmanship and guarantees as required by the Contrac Document. Approval does not extend to means, methods, techniques, sequences of procedure of construction or to safety precautions and programs in connection with the work.

My advice is not to APPROVE anything. Always review only for general compliance and never approve. The word Approve has a very distinct and definitive legal meaning. Go to DPIC web site they have some very good language for shop drawing stamps.

we use the following which has the blessing of our insurance carrier: 5 boxes containing the following for a check mark. 1. No exception taken 2. Rejected 3. Make corrections noted 4. Revise and Resubmit 5. Submit Specified Item. The following paragraph follows below the 5 boxes above. Checking is only for general conformance with the design concept of the project and general compliance with the information given in the contract documents. Any action shown is subject to the requirements of the plans and specifications. Contractor is responsible for: dimensions which shall be confirmed and correlated at the job site; fabrication processes and techniques of construction; coordination of his work with that of all other trades; and the satisfactory performance of his work.<br>

Reviewing is only for conformance with the design concept of the project and compliance with the information given in the contract documents. The contractor is responsible for dimensions to be confirmed and correlated at the site: for information that pertains solely to the fabrication processes or to the means, methods, techniques, sequences and procedures of construction; and for coordination of the work of all trades. The architect's approval of a specific item does not indicate approval of an assembly of which the item is a component.

I've reviewed the information submitted and the footnote at the bottom of my shopdrawing transmittal will be similar to the following:

The documents referenced above have only been reviewed for general conformance with the design concept of the Project and general compliance with the information given in the Contract Documents. All Work is subject to the requirements of the Drawings and Specifications. Review of a specific item does not constitute approval of an assembly of which the item is a component.
The Contractor is responsible for:
dimensions which shall be confirmed and correlated with job site conditions,
information that pertains solely to fabrication processes,
means, methods, techniques, sequences and procedures of construction,
safety precautions and programs in connection with the Work,
coordination of his Work with that of all other trades, and
satisfactory performance of the Work.

Thanks for the general input...
