Hello,

I assembled two parts and I would like to constrain them using their CSYSs. is that possible?

I'm using NX7.5

Hi Weinstein.

in your assembly need to set the reference set of your components to entire part. That will show your Csys for the component.

What nutace mentioned will work,
but what you can do is, in the assembly change the reference set of the components to entire part
then when you are done constraining change it back to model (or what ref set you are using)

We have a reference set for the solid part and Coordinate system in our default template. This way you can toggle to this reference and not get all of the other stuff with the models. We like to use reference geometry to constrain to if possible.

thank you very much for your answers, I'll try it first thing tomorrow!

Hello nutace, Jerry and sdeters,

your methode does work but I still can't select any element of the datum CSYS to costain the other parts to it.

is it allowed to constrain to datum CSYS in NX7.5?

Hi...

Should be no problem to constrain to Csys.

You should check a few settings:
Are the layers where your Csys is located selectable?
Did you check if you don't have any type selection filters active?
Is your selection scope set to entire assembly?
