showing results at the begging of a long worksheet

I have a pretty large worksheet that is about 32 pages long. The first two pages define some units and the required inputs. Throughout the worksheet are some results I would like to show alongside the inputs so I don't have to scroll through the whole worksheet to find them. I tried placing the result variables next to the input variables and doing referencing the big worksheet itself-but it didn't work. There must be a clever way to do this. Any ideas? I'm not sure if its important or not but within the workwheet 5 other worksheets are referenced.

It's not clear to me from your post. Did you try to reference your long worksheet into another "summary" worksheet? That approach has always worked for me, even with nested references.

Yes, I tried referencing the long workheet in a summary sheet too. I get an error saying that the variables are undefined which really stumps me.

Look up global definitions. It is a tilde or ~. It displays as three horizontal lines.

Normal variables can only be viewed after they are defined.

There are some tricks using components that could do what you want, but they'd be awkward at best. Do a search on the Mathcad Collaboratory site if you're interested.

One way to manage the size of your apparent sheet is place stuff that you don't necessarily want to see all the time in regions and collapse the regions.

Alternately, you can place the input definitions near the results and use global definition to cast the definition back to the beginning of the sheet.

Tanfolio - It seems to me that I had that problem once. I think the long worksheet had some problem region that was preventing it from executing as a reference. Try saving the first five pages as a file and see if that file references properly. And so on till you find the region that prevents the reference.

IRStuff - Whenever I collapse an area, I find that the regions inside the collapsed area don't recalculate. Is there some switch that I need to reset?

Jmiec - I discovered that a region is preventing the reference as you pointed out. I have three list boxes in the worksheet that are interdependent (the items in list box two and three depend on the selections in one and two). It seems that the referencing ceases to work at the second list box.

IRstuff & Jmiec - I plan to try the collapsing technique today. I'll post the results.

I added a list of desired outputs at the bottom of the long worksheet and collapsed the area between the inputs and the outputs. The collapsed area seems to calculate just fine. This method reduced the worksheet from 33 pages to 6 pages which makes it much easier to perform a sensitivity analysis of changing the input variables.
