Hi there,

I'm hoping this is one of those silly questions that takes 5 seconds to answer. Having had the program for 4 days, 2 of those have involved trying to figure this out.

Its a question about sheet metal edge flanges. I've attached a zip of 2 screens that might make things easier to understand.

I start with a simple metal square 50mm on a side x 2mm. SW tells me its fully defined.

I try to add the edge flange, doing exactly the same as the 6 or so different guides I followed shows.

As soon as I try to finalise the flange, I get an error balloon saying "Rebuild Errors - this part requires a fully defined sketch"

I've checked everything multiple times....and i really am out of ideas. Can anyone help please?

Just one idea - Somewhere under Tools->Options there is a checkbox for "Use fully defined sketches". Try turning that off if it's on.

-handleman, CSWP (The new, easy test)

... or, after selecting the direction but before finishing the feature, select Edit Flange Profile and add a dimension to the length of the flange to fully define it.

But that method is a PITA to do continually so I agree with handleman. Uncheck Use fully defined sketches setting under Tools > Options > System Options > Sketch

[cheers]

Thankyou so much - i can feel my brain starting to revert to normal size already :)

Sometimes it feels like its the smallest things to learn that give you the biggest headaches.
