Hi all, I'm new to the forums, so go easy on me... [smile]

Just after a little help with a project I'm working on:

I'm writing an in-depth report on the development of a racing Wankel engine.

As part of this I have modeled an engine in NX and would like to get it working in the motion sim environment, but i'm having problems with the relationship between the stationary gear and the ring gear that sits in the rotor. (I've attached a picture for reference).

I've set up normal links for both components and revolute joints for both too. The ring gear has a constant driver set and its origin is the centre of the stationary gear to get the eccentric motion I'm after. I'm using a 2 point coupler.

The resulting motion is almost correct but the ring gear its itself is spinning about its own axis as well as eccentrically. I just want this eccentric motion.

I've been through all of the appropriate CAST training tutorials and looked elsewhere, but cant seem to find any ring gear examples...

Any help is greatly appreciated.

For those that are interested, my problem has been solved:

I fixed the stationary gear, applied a joint to the ring gear (and selected the stationary gear as the base), made a 3D contact between the components, and applied a torque vector to the ring gear in the z axis.
