In order to get 24VDC using a transformer, I'd like to take a 16v transformer, rectify it and put a capacitor across the lumpy DC (after the rectifier of course). Obviously using a 24v transformer, I'll end up with almost 40VDC. For a 100VA transformer, I have roughly 4a available to me at 24v, and 6a at 16v. By using the cap, after the rectifier, do I still have the 6 Amps available at ~24V?
