I am new to Solid Works so this might be something simple but i dont know how to do it. If i have an assembly of a threaded rod and a nut how can i make the washer move along the rod as i turn my threaded rod?

There is no simple, one click move to do that. You will have to use Animator or Physical Dynamics or Equations.
