Sine Wave Filter with motor cable length 900 meters.

Hello.

The Rockwell recommended use the Sine Wave filter, for a application between drive and motor cable length 900 meters.
The cable will not be shielded.

Voltage: 460V
motor isolation 1000V
switching frequency 2khz
power: 125cv and 250CV

I dont now if will be the best aplication, but Rockwell want will use.

Is there a question here or are you just stating something? I agree with the recommendation if that’s what you are asking for. With only 1000V insulation on the motor I would recommend the sine wave filter for even less distance. If you used a properly rated motor design you might be OK with a simpler and less expensive DV/DT filter but a more conservative approach is always better in cases such as this.

Another approach might be to locate the drive closer to the load.

The classic sinewave filer comprises a three phase reactor and a three phase capacitor and creates a phase to phase sinewave voltage waveform, but there is still considerable common mode voltage (chopped waveform) between the output phases and earth. If the cable is highly capacitive (screened or close coupled cable) there will be considerable high frequency common mode currents flowing in the screen/earth. Use either a special sinewave filer including common mode filtering, or a standard sinewave filter with a delta/star isolation transformer at the drive.
