I need 11 KV, 95 sq mm copper cable for connecting my 11 KV test generator to 11 KV motors for no-load tests. The machines are about 10 meters apart. The whole test duration will be for about 3 hours continuous and the cables will be laid on ground and will be exposed with the test area cordoned off.

What are the + and - of

Single core vs Three core?

Armored vs Unarmored ?

Muthu,
It is best to cleat single cores to keep them together under fault current forces. Three core means one less thing to buy and remember. However availability is also a factor especially as you need such a short length. Three core seems more common (so more likely available without a minimum order quantity) in European-influenced places and single core in US-influenced. Single core may make it easier to reach the MoQ. Three core is only one gland into your terminal box and doesn't need a non-ferrous gland plate. Laid on the ground would push me towards armoured even if I can't give you a concrete scenario justifying it (You need to check your jointers can do armoured). There are other factors (losses, cost of repair, water blocking,...) but not relevant to you.
John.

Thank you, John.

MOQ and ease of installation and removal (multiple times since each motor's terminal box distance can vary a few meters) are the major reasons for me to opt for single core, unarmored cable. Once the cables from the generator to the test motor(s) are laid, the whole area is screened off and locked out with gates for personnel safety. This is 100% indoor and hence safe from the elements.
