single phase motor conection

hi, Im trying to conect a single phase motor and have 4 wires: Orange, red, yellow, black. Ive tried several conections but I can make it start on its own, eventhough it has a capacitor and a starting winding. It works but it doesnt start without a little starting torque.

Your starting (centrifugal) switch may be stuck open.

I agree with jraef's assessment! Your start switch is bad. The switch on the motor's shaft that is to be closed when the motor is below something like 2/3s of its rated speed is never closing or the contacts are bad.

tatogarza1982, above are straightforward suggestion. I agree that a centrifugal switch is the culprit, else there might an open circuit underlying on the starting winding. If centifugal switch is functional, perhaps capacitor is busted (open).
