Single zone VAV (SZVAV )

Are we have to use VAV box in a single zone VAV to control the air flow-rate?
I found a presentations say we haven't, but didn't find it in any reference until now.

you seemingly do need control, but if control is settled at ahu, you would need constant pressure controller upstream of supply grilles.

in any case, you need to study your ahu setup, general references are just first step in scrutiny.

There are many ways to design a system. It all depends on what is more important to the client. Tight control? first cost? energy effieicncy? Then you select the system that meets their expectations.
