Site Surface Material

We are working on a industrial site in West Texas. What surface fill is generally used for the entire site for light traffic such as pick up trucks and dump trucks. I was thinking of TxDOT item 247 Grade 1. it has following retained, 7/8"=10-35, 3/8"=30-50, No.4 =45-65, No.40=70-85. Has good mix of gravel to fines to form crust to consolidate and drain well too.

That gradation should work OK. I'd opt for the mix with more fines than the cleaner mix since binding will be better.
