I am having a problem using the Sketch driven pattern using SolidWorks 2001 PLUS SP4.

I am setting up a tubular part with a milled flat and screw holes on the flat. The ID/OD of this part will change according to the project. I would like to control the placement of 6 screw holes (3 on each side of centerline) on the milled flat with a sketch driven pattern so that as my first hole moves relative to the centerline the "mirror" will move accordingly.

Everything works [bigsmile] until I change the base sketch which controls the ID/OD. SolidWorks hangs up briefly then crashes.[thumbsdown]

I am attempting this as it appears to be a better method for controlling a hole pattern that I can later use for a derived pattern in my assembly.

Any suggestions?

I found a solution to my problem.

I was using the "Selected Point" option selecting the center of my screw hole. Crashes every time.[bomb]

I used the "Centroid" option and it works everytime.[2thumbsup]

Don't know why one works and the other doesn't.
