Sketch on a section

Problem: section a part and create a sketch on the section (actually the plane through the section). It appears that you can't select the edges of the section and convert them to sketch lines. Is there a work-around?

Tools --> Sketch Tools --> Intersection curves

In a 2D sketch, this will get the section curves of surfaces intersecting the sketch plane.

Turn off section, change from color solid to wireframe (can't remember the correct terms right now), then select the edges.
