Similar to a previous post: thread561-244099 , and visited again because I found something that almost got me where I want to be in NX7.5. The see-thru command was what I thought was going to finally allow me to select sketches through opaque solids, but this is still only possible by clicking at least a percent of translucency into the model.

The sweet radial commands have made this somewhat better in that I just quickly go between solid and wireframe, but wireframe of complex assemblies gets very messy. If the see-thru command would allow me to select-sketches-thru, I'd be very happy. Is this a legitimate request for enhancement? Is there now (now that I am in NX7.5)a command that will allow me to do this? Essentially if I could trick my system to make all parts displayed as fully shaded have 1% translucency (without having to change all of them each time I load them) I would be all set, and would never visit this topic again.

Thanks for your time, and please ask for any clarifications of what I am looking for.

OK, go to your Selection Bar and make sure that at least the item labeled 'Allow Selection of Hidden Wireframe' is toggled ON. This will allow you to select you sketch even if you can't see it because it's 'behind' an opaque face/body. Now it won't highlight (but you will get the pre-selection and seletction feedback/confirmation in the status line) unless a second item on the Selection Bar labeled 'Highlight Hidden Edges' is also toggled ON.

Thanks John, I wish I'd noticed that whenever it changed....probably 4 or 5 when the selection filtering was enhanced (again). (I missed a lot on the 2-5 jump)

I am very happy now. I can see complex sketches buried down in complex assemblies (without wireframe clutter), select them, and edit them in context of the assembly.

Thanks again,
