I am currently working for a company in Mojave as a Landing Gear Systems Engineer and have a question regarding Skydrol and what effects it has on composites.
I have been searching the internet intensely and have not found much info on the subject.
The direct question is that I have a 75,000 pound aircraft that needs new rolling stock and all I can find is the brakes are design to use Skydrol. The aircraft currently is using 87257, red oil.
This means that we will need to have two seperate systems, one for the brakes, and one for the rest of the system or convert or change out all of the components to be compatible with Skydrol.
My task is to find out what effect, if any, Skydrol has on composites.
Just so you know I am not a composites guy but I do hydraulics and Landing Gear.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Jerry
