Dear all,
I'm currently working on a sliding wear problem characterized by low speed and high load. I'm looking for the better solution in terms on materials mating, in order to restrict the tribometer pin-on-disk test on limited casuistry.
The first material in exam is a carbon steel with nickel surface treatment, hardness TBD, and surface finiture TBD. On the opposite side I'm evaluating the solutions summarized in the list below:
- PTFE fabric solution;
- Steel with coating MoSi2 or DLC;
I would like to test also some ceramic material but I don't find a commercial material to test (have you some advise? Have you a wear map to share?). Other doubt is the critical load at which I could have a fragile crack with the creation of big debris.
Have you some advises or a materials to share in order to help me to find the better solution for my problem?
Thank you in advance for your support,
Bye and have a nice day,
Bibo
