Hi Guys,
I would like to make a 'ball-end' slot type feature using the 'slot' command. The slot depth I require is much less than the 'ball-end' diameter. I would call this a 'shallow slot', i.e. I just want to touch my 'placement face' with the end of my ball-end slot. What would be the easiest way to do this? I could do this with a swept feature but was wondering if there is another way...

many thanks,
James

Is the face planar?

Just in case it IS 'planar', see the attached example as a possible solution.

To vary the 'depth' of your 'shallow slot' simply edit the offset distance parameter of the Datum Plane.
