Well that thread was over 10 years ago...

Slug catcher design is much more art than science. Finger type slug catchers and / or large pressure vessels are expensive, take a lot of land so yo need to do all yu can to minimise the size.

There are so many permutations that you need to start with some basics.

Hydrodynamic slugging implies quite a large liquid fraction ( 0.3. to 0.5?)

I always dislike slugs as a term and prefer liquid surge or wave.

The key inputs are max anticipated surge over your steady state liquid flow rate, how fast your liquid handling system can ramp up to max flow, how often you anticipate these surges ( can you drain out the liquid before the next wave hits?) what happens if you overflow? Can you increase gas velocity (i.e. reduce inlet pressure?)

This forum is a bit of a backwater so you might need to get some data together and repost in another forum.
