Does anyone find it annoying that when clicking 'Find Object' and launching 'Search Editor' that there is no discernable order in which the searches are listed?

We believe the function would be more useful and efficient, if the Search Editor launched with the searches displayed in alphabetical order.

Currently the user needs to click on the Name heading twice in order to have the list show in alphabetical order. Though this seems easy, eventually the users become annoyed and start questioning why the list does not appear alphabetically.

I posted this issue as a PMR on the IBM PLM Technical Support web-site believing this to be an issue.

Their initial response was as follows:

The interface for search implementation is completely subjective and I believe many SmarTeam users will probably complain if it were changed to be sorted by name by default.

Because of the following reasons, I cannot agree with you on the need for a change in the SmarTeam "Find Object" Search interface:

exceptionally easy work-around to achieve the results you prefer
the fact that most SmarTeam users are accustomed to the current search interface
some existing functionality would be lost if the change you propose were implemented
There is little or no productivity loss with the current "Find Object" search interface.

Hello there.

I also find it annoying.
The sorting should have been an option in the user preferences, with the ability to sort by the column of choice.

Though there haven't been many responses to this particular post, I've submitted an Enhancement Request with COE.
