SMD vs SM1 1

Does anyone know the differences between SMD and SM1? specially their training material deference?

CATIA — Sheetmetal Design 2 (SMD, 5691-SMD): In addition to the functions supplied by SM1, including its Release 3 enhancements, SMD delivers

[li]-Stamped features for stiffeners, such as darts and beads[/li]
[li]-Stamped shapes, such as dimples, countersinks, pierced and extruded holes, and louvers[/li]
[li]-Swept features (flanges, hems, user-defined)[/li]
[li]The ability to capture the specifications used in Sheetmetal Design 2 in CATIA — Knowledge Advisor 2 (KWA). Captured specifications can be reused to improve productivity and quality and to implement corporate standards.[/li]
[li]Interoperability with CATIA Version 4 data and its portfolio of applications. Version 5 parts can be used by Version 4 in downstream applications (analysis, digital mock-ups, assemblies, ...). This capability requires at least CATIA Version 4 Release 2.0 Refresh 1. Current Version 4 designs can be migrated to Version 5 when necessary. For example, Version 5 sheetmetal feature recognition can be applied to Version 4 solids.[/li]

Hi,

Training materials (specially coming from DS) are not public, so you can guess what they contain only by comparing what Drew already highlighted. Just a remark, what is on IBM web site is really old...

Contact any DS training partner, they should be able to provide information about training on those module.
But looking at some DS web I can see only 2 SheeMetal training: SMD as the basic and Aerospace SMD. So my guess is take SMD training and learn about the function you'll be missing. SMD is 8H course.
