Hello,

I have a query concerning installation of a smoke detector in area of 16' high ceilings. Would the same installation requirements be applicable as for regular 7' ceilings or are they required / preferred to be wall mount at lower heights to allow for accurate smoke detection?

Thank you.

Of course I can. I can do anything. I can do absolutely anything. I'm an expert!

katwalatapan,
I think the best thing to do is ask AHJ.
NFPA 72-2016 (alarm systems) is now out and for sale. I heard that supposedly a lot of major changes from 2013.
Good luck,
Dave

If you put them on the wall at 7 feet, they _might_ go off before the flashover.
