Does anyone have any experience using the condenser section of an air-cooled packaged AC unit for smoke purge. Johnson Controls sells a motorized damper for the condenser section to be used to relive room pressure by using room air to cool the compressor. We would like to use this arrangement to do post-fire smoke purge by opening this damper and closing the outside air intake damper in the condenser section.
The compressor would be shut down and the exhaust fan run.

Check how much external static pressure for given airflow would be available. Propeller fans can't provide much static pressure and smoke purge require large cfm.

You should hire an Engineer familiar with fans and ventilation if this smoke purge test makes any difference to any authorities.

You're off on the wrong foot already.
