I am interested in making a smoke wand for air flow visualization. Do any of you know how to make one, where I can get plans for one, or for that matter know where I can buy one?

I am suprised at the lack of information uncovered in my web searches.

Thanks in advance,

In a pinch, we have used a fire extinguisher as our flow visualization tool, which works pretty well. However, if you want a smoke generator, below is a link for the smoke generator manufacturer we have used before:

Reidh,

Thanks for the link, but I am actually looking for the wand. I need a very small stream of smoke and to precisely control its placement. This is for visualizing the air flow around fan components.

Corona has some interesting smoke generators. I left them a message asking if they do anything with a wand.

Got any other ideas?

You could always use incense sticks.

An added benefit is everything will smell nicer, too.

Reidh and IRstuff,

Thanks for the replies. I have contacted Aerolab and tonight I'll go by Spencers Gifts for some some incense. Do you recommend any particular scent?

What scent of incense stick?
Depends on how much you think you design might stink.
