Hi all,

I am looking for a small SMT (tape and reel/tube) clip suitable for connection to a small solenoid valve. We are looking at mounting the PCB directly to the valve and to avoid manual soldering (or more precisely to avoid the time taken to manually solder wires/blades to a PCB) therefore we require a clip that can attach to individual 2.8 x 0.5mm blades (see ignore 3rd (Earth) blade). FAS are not aware of any suitable SMT clips. We have looked at many different varieties including mobile phone battery (spring) connectors and automotive mini blade fuse clips, but none are quite suitable for holding single pins like these.

We are looking for approximately 40,000 pieces pa and any suggestions gratefully appreciated!

Newark is a good distributor to find odd ball connectors ( Unfortunately you'll need to have a catalog in hand because their web-site isn't very friendly if you don't have a part number.

Your link to doesn't work. What FAS part are you using? Without knowing that, are you looking for something like a Newark 37C5174 (Moles) or maybe a 57F2651 (Grayhill)? Those might be good leads for manufacturers to look into.

Sorry Z, it's doing funny things to pdf file of 2-D drawing. See 2-D technical drawing symbol on this page (nice website worth looking at for ideas IMO)

Have looked at Newark website, but in England where we have Farnells (who bought Newark) they will probably not be able to get a good price for 60k pieces! People over here generally buy in tens from them!
