We find on the market cast steel socket weld fittings rated for 150 lb and 300 lb, in material 304L. As far as I am concerned, they certainly meet the requirements for an application such as recirculating cooling water and open circuit river water. We don't need forged steel fittings rated for 3000 lb. In the ASME standard B31.9-1996, article 906.1.1 Listed Fittings, it says «Fittings manufactured in accordance with a specification or standard listed in Table 926.1 or Appencix A may be used ...». Maybe I am blind but I have a hard time finding my way thru that. Can any one tell me which manufacturing standard covers the cast steel socket weld fittings we find on the market that are rated for 150 lb or 300 lb ?
