Hello All,
I'm modeling contact in a human knee and have a problem that I can't quite figure out. I'm applying displacements on the ends of the bones in my model and the contact surfaces start as being in intimate contact with no overclosure. The analysis will run well at first with the residuals showing an appropriately damped system, but then at some point, the time steps drop quickly and the system becomes underdamped.
I'm using a dissipated energy fraction for the global stabilization as well as contact damping and contact stabilization. Can someone explain how to get stabilization that can be updated either manually or automatically? Thanks very much!
