I need help finding a good soil moisture and temperature sensor. it needs to be able to work in wet soil conditions. Any help would be appreciated. A link or a way to build one would be very helpful or any other tips on the type of device. Need it for thesis

Ok. But i will wait for a better response, hopefully

Temperature is easy, use a thermistor.

Moisture is much more difficult. I've used "soil moisture blocks" in the past. Seemed to work well at moderate moisture contents, but at best were plus or minus 2 percent.

Foundry sand moisture content has to be measured rapidly. There are several ways. However, for years a milk bottler shaped device with dial gage on the base "speedy" meter has been used with calcium carbide mixed with sand to get a pressure that is converted to moisture content.

Here is only one meter that is out there these days.
