Please see attached picture for soil sample we got from the site (wooded area) at the top 8 feet (pure white). The samples have m.c ranged from 50 to 64 percent, I ordered LOI test for it. Samples do not have any odor and it is light in weight and have low consistency.
Is this soils could be white organic soils?.

it seems feldspathic? You know the local rock type? (assuming it's residuum.)

LOI is really not a part of soil identification, at least per ASTM. Rather perform an oven-dried liquid limit test and compare that to the non-oven-dried liquid limit test. That's the ASTM method to see if the soil is organic. If the liquid limit reduction is more than 25 percent, then it's organic.

What's the engineering end game?

If feldspathic, could it be a type of clay?

Rather than think climate change and the corona virus as science, think of it as the wrath of God. Feel any better?

Former rehabilitated with vegetation and skim of cover over industrial waste site possibly.

Perhaps Marl? We see a fair bit of it in the Ottawa area? We've found similar deposits near swampy areas, some deposits near rivers, etc. May be able to dig up a photo. Feels almost chalky to touch and very light weight. Consists of
some organic content and is classified as an organic soil. Have never seen it 8 feet thick though..... Did you encounter clay or sand near by also?

I’d go further and say it’s a carbonate CLAY Ron🧐
