Solar shading louvres

I'm working on a project, were i am to design a opnening mechanism for some solar shading panels on the gable of a house.
the panels should be able to rotate from starting position (0 degrees) to almost 90 degrees.

I have been looking at gas springs in order to be able to lock the panels in variable positions between 0-90 degrees. It seems like a bit much though for 11 kg panels, so i was wondering if it was possible to use a some sort of combined mounting and rotate locking mechanism when mounting the panels to the wall? Kind of like a socket wrench mechanism. I have no idea what sort of mechanism could be called though og where to buy it??

Another problem is the oblique mounting surface in one of the ends. i don't really know how to solve that. This can be seen at attached image number 2.

The panels are 8 mm thick, 300 mm high and 2900 mm long. They weigh 11 kg.

Thoughts on best way to actuate the louvers:

-An individual cylinder for each panel is going to be pretty costly, and a small nightmare for the control system.
-Alternative is to have have a set of gears on a track. A gear is on the end of each louvre, and another gear at the end of the track is connected to one 2-way cylinder (or a hand pull) - see attachment.
-Locking could be achieved by locking out the cylinder in position.
-Concern should be given to how you keep the tracks in place while letting them slide forwards and backwards as the gears rotate.

I forgot to specify that the panels is to be manually opened from the inside (pushed). So i just need the mounting of the panels to the wall, to include some sort of locking rotation mechanism, so when you push the panels they will rotate to the desired position? And they should of course also be able to return to starting position.

That's is why i've been look at gas-springs. But i would like to know if there is a way to avoid them.
