Is anybody using solid chemicals to treat their chilled, hot or condenser water systems? I've always used liquid chems in the past and am a little leary of the newer solid treatments. I have talked to a couple contacts and they say that they are happy with the cost of shipping and storage, but not happy with the ability to dose properly and along with that the results. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on the personality of the operator. Some don't seem to mind the work to mix up chemical solutions. Others are willing to pay a much higher cost for premixed watered down chemicals.

It would be better if you use liquid form instead of solid. There are, I think, equipment that could dose solids, but the ease and effectiveness of dosing might not be as good as dosing a liquid. Then the result will not be what you would expect. You also have to consider if the solids you will dose will mix evenly with the water, you might need additional reaction tank, whereas if you dose liquid, the turbulence of waterflow will facilitate mixing, or you can provide reaction coil out of the piping material to increase mixing time.
