What I am trying to do is take an assembly I have and convert it into a part. The part has to have one solidbody. I did the whole save assembly as a part but I get a multibodied part and when I try and combine:add the solidbodies together I get the error " Combine1: Unable to create single body that is the sum of the input bodies." I am trying to run my assemby structure through cocmos works express. I am using SW04 SP01. I also tried to save as every different export and import it back in but I get the same scenerio of multibodies that can not combine:add. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like there are gaps that prevent a single body being formed. Note that an assembly saved as a part will be a series of body features, each of which represents one of the parts.

Note also that I caution you on trying to "run your assembly structure through ComosExpress". It is not a solid object and except in some very unique circumstances your results will be completely meaningless and very misleading. Absolutely not a good idea unless you are an FEA EXPERT and know EXACTLY what you are doing.

I was - and he did. So at least I didn't get coal.....

Thanks JNR,

I was checking to see if I had any gaps but I can't seem to find any. That doesn't mean that my model doesn't have any. The whole cosmos was just for S&Giggles. I wanted to check and see what it would do if it was under my FOS load. I still can't seem to get it to be one solid body and I really don't want to have to go and add blanks or adjust my model.
