I'm having an intermittent problem with my Logitech M705 mouse in Solidworks. I use the center mouse wheel rotation to zoom in and out. Occasionally it will start zooming and not stop when the mouse wheel stops. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions?

I am using the current version of SetPoint 6.65 & 2014 SP4.0.

I just recently got the same mouse and haven't experienced that issue yet although I did seem to notice that it scrolled quite excessively when scrolling on webpages. What I did to remedy that was to go into SetPoint under pointer and scrolling settings and turned off smooth scrolling and changed my scrolling size to 1. I'm not sure if that will help you but its worth a shot.

You might also check the button above the mouse wheel and turn off the smooth scroll.

The biggest problem I noticed was using the middle mouse click to rotate. It feels like a more difficult button to push and hold, and with the side scrolling I would often side scroll instead of pushing the middle mouse button. So I chose to move the rotation to the app button

Thanks for your thought/comments. I've disabled the smooth scrolling setting and will give that a try.

just opening Logitech setpoint once usually resolves that problem.
It may have something to do with the 'smooth scrolling' feature in Chrome?

You're not alone: I have a Logitech Performance MX and mine does this very occasionally. I've probably had it 18 months to 2 years and I think it's probably done it under 10 times. Close and restart SW sorts it every time, but I have NO IDEA what actually causes it! It's very infrequent so I've just got over it.

I didn't like the 'smooth scroll' option in browser pages as it seems to carry on moving once you have stopped scrolling, so already have that disabled.

Sorry I can't cure the issue, but if you do find the cause I'll be interested to know about it!

I have had this happen when working in SW, then activating Chrome, and going back to SW. I have found that simply reactivating Chrome and then going back to SW again solves the problem. I agree with other posters that it may have to do with the Smooth Scrolling add-in.

Do you have the Game detection turned on? I have seen this option cause issue in SW with Logitech mice. I have the Smooth scrolling turn on for my M570, though its a different mouse it probably uses the same drive as yours does.

Thank you all for your comments. I recently had the same issue after a fresh install and found this posting again.

Disabling the "smooth scrolling" option in SetPoint Settings did the trick. Game detection was turned off.
