have been trying to solve this from long time. however could get.

need some experts opinions.

my query is attached as a pdf file and the solidwroks 2016 model too.

i am facing problem in assigning proper contact condition and boundry condion .

it s a Z shapo bracket whic hhas a flathead bolt and pin . the bracket has threaded hole ehre the flat head bolt will be placed. the pin rest on the head of flat head bolt ,

this assembly is connected to a rcc Wall.

There are a couple of things I can see that may be the source of your problems:

Your bolt has the threads modeled which is unnecessary and will require an extremely fine mesh. You should modify the bolt model to be the thread minor diameter and make the hole in the bracket the same size. This won't be perfectly accurate because if won't take the stress concentrations around the thread into account but should work well enough for your low force of 50N.

Your screenshot showing when you set up your contacts has more than 3 parts selected. All I can see are the bracket, bolt, and pin, where are the other ones? They don't show up in your assembly tree either.

I would also add a X direction constraint to the small end face of the bottom flange of the bracket to take the fact it is pressing up against the wall into account.

dear hender sdc ,

thanks for your feedback. in this thread you can find the attached solidwroks model.

i already added the X direction restraints .

your comment: "You should modify the bolt model to be the thread minor diameter and make the hole in the bracket the same size"

do you mean should the model the one without threads and keep it plain ?

if possible could you have a look on this solidworks file CORRECT IT. IT WILL BE OF GREAT HELP

THE VERSION IS SW 2016

Also to other experts in the forum , i will be glad if any one can correct the the attached SW model .

thanks and regards
Alex

Alex,

Yes, you should modify the bolt to be only a plain cylinder with no threads.
