Hi,

i have successfully imported assembly from Solidworks to Abaqus. In Solidworks i have defined all mates as they should be. Question i have is, are the mates translated to abaqus with this assembly too?

in abaqus it says under model/assembly/instances (14) (total are 14), but there are no position constraints. Any help would be nice :D

Thank you

I would have thought that position constraints were needed only in the assembly of the different parts. Once assembled and imported into Abaqus then these assembly constraints would no longer be needed. Actual physical constraints, such as contact or tied surfaces, would be defined as normal in the Interaction module.

so basically there is no need to additionally apply position constraints.

Therefore i must use this:

QUOTE: "Actual physical constraints, such as contact or tied surfaces, would be defined as normal in the Interaction module."

i must apply surface to surface contacts, fixed contact etc..?

I have been doing my studies on Solidworks Simulation, but as for this particular assembly it seems to be abaqus right one to do.

Thank you for your anwser

This is what i must do: (animation)

everything in this animated asembly must be simulated for results. Spring tension, forces on Rivets (points of contact between Rivets and spring), latch (the moving part with A number on it) is basically fixed, and frame on to po frame force is applyed. (which in this animation is opposite shown.

Defining all the contacts, frictions etc.. thats all
