Solidworks surface trimming

I have 3 surfaces where one edge of surfaces 1 and 2 touch, and one edge of surfaces 2 and 3 touch. Solidworks will let me knit surface 1 to 2 and also let me knit 2 to 3. However if I try to knit the already knitted 1 and 2 to 3 or the already knitted 2 and 3 to 1 it will not do it: the final result I need is 1, 2 and 3 all knitted.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your help.

Do 1 and 3 intersect or touch each other? I assume you can't knit 1,2,and 3 all at the same time.

1 and 3 do not intersect or touch each other. I tried knitting 1 to 2 to 3 but this failed. It was then I tried the 2 combinations 1 to 2 and 2 to 3.

You may nee to extend the mating edge and then trim it to get the 3rd surface to knit. This was the solution I used to get it to work.

Have you tried the Mutual option in the Trim dialogue. If that doesn't work either, you'll need to double-check that all surfaces fully intersect (and probably go past the edges) of one another.

However, the ends of the edges sometimes must be lined up and not extend past one another--it depends on the complexity of your surfaces and how SW will need to figure out the real boundaries of your trimming.
