I attempted to locate a phase diagram in the Metals Handbooks to determine the solubility of cadmium in iron over the temperature range from room temperature to 1000 degrees F, but could not find that diagram for this particular alloy system. Can someone refer me to a resource that has this information? A Google search did not produce any worthwhile resources. Suggestions?

I would also be of interest to know the phase diagram of this alloy system. However, I heard that iron has limited solubility in Cd, if it is soluble at all.

In the Metals Handbook 8th Ed. Vol.8 at page 353 one can read the following Note:

"Cd-Fe (Cadmium-Iron)
No diagram is shown in this volume. Hansen reports that cadmium and iron are insoluble in each other. Shunk reports that the solubility of iron in liquid cadmium increases from 1.2 ppm at 421C (790F) to 22 ppm at 647C (1197F). No intermediate phases have been reported."

Goahead, thank you.
