I have a tremendous model in solidworks/cosmosworks to be analysed with a mixed study (beams and surfaces)
Cosmosworks uses sparse solver by default and gives very bad results. Is there any possibility to force Cosmosworks to use FFE+ solver ? (All flags are on FFE+ in options to choose, but Cosmos uses sparse solver)
Thanks

with options, you mean properties of study?

Yes, all flags are on FFE+, in main options and also in study options. But the solver is still sparse ...

Hi,
almost certainly, the problem formulation is such as to NOT allow FFE+ at all. See in the Manual for the appliability of FFE+ solver (I personally don't remember).
What do you mean by "bad" results? Bear in mind that you will NEVER get "better" results than with a direct solver such as "sparse solver", which can handle bad-conditioned matrices. An undirect (iterative) solver as FFE+ can not handle ill-conditioned problems and, at least up to v.2004, had extremely poor diagnostic messages which caused the user to wander in the no-mans-land if the solver failed to converge...
