Dear experts,
hi every one ,i don't have much experience in production of steel members ,so i have some questions for experts here,
first,
what is the max thickness that can be accepted to make cold formed steel members like (C -channels .Z channels)
2-for hollow square sections with small thickness like 40x40x1.5 mm it's hot rolled or cold formed
3-can i apply weld size = 2 mm between steel members

thanks alot

1) Contact you local fabricator or supplier. The fabricator that will be doing the fabricating for you will tell you what they are capable of - or - the supplier that you or the contractor would be purchasing from will tell you what is available.
2) HSS (hollow) sections are typically hot rolled sheet / plate, cold-formed to shape or section, and then shop welded, seam welded to close.
3) 2mm weld is extremely small. The smallest I've ever specified would be 4-5 mm. The weld specification will depend on your application.

Contact your local fabricator or supplier. They will be the experts to these questions.
